Symbols

State Seal

Idaho’s state seal, designed in 1891 by Emma Edwards Green, tells the story of our people, land, and resources. From liberty and industry to mountains, rivers, and wildlife, it reflects the beauty and strength of Idaho.

The seal should be displayed in good state, without alteration, and should not convey the impression that the product or services are state authorized, sponsored, or endorsed.

State Flag

The Idaho State Flag features a bold blue field with the Great Seal at its center, surrounded by a red and gold banner reading “State of Idaho.” It reflects our people, landscapes, and resources — a lasting symbol of Idaho’s pride and spirit.

Adopted in 1907.
